Conspiring with God

Cultivating a lifestyle of prayer while partnering with His heart.

Could this be the season a new breed of radical, fierce, yet humble and broken intercessory people are emerging on the scene? Remember, Psalm 24:1 declares, “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.” (KJV) Perhaps in our day we are seeing a joining together of the offices, the priest, and the prophet. For we have seen the ravaging effects of the serpent’s stronghold, and it’s time for an “Anna Company” to come forth and pray the prophetic promises back to God.

What was her prophetic ministry?

She was a woman of the secret place, interceding in keeping with the purposes of God for her generation.
Yours [too] is the privilege of entering into the intercession of Christ, yielding yourself to Him so that He can function in His priestly ministry before the Father. In prayer, you become a labourer with God. You are now His co-worker. You enter into partnership with the Creator of the universe.

The burden of prophetic intercession begins as a flame that grows into a consuming fire as the revelation concerning the purposes of God for your generation increases. It might start as an inner conviction of His will, a sudden awareness of His nearness, or the hearing of the condition of something that triggers a response in the prophetic spirit.

"Prophetic intercession is our conspiring together with God, breathing violently into situations through prayer to bring forth life."

In all prophetic intercession there is the feeling of something struggling to be born. The heart of the intercessor becomes the womb in which God’s prophetic purposes are wrestling to come forth. In this place the clash between new beliefs and old traditions is fought. As we continue in the prophetic activity of hearing his voice we become convinced that a radical revolution of the Christian faith is near.

Prophetic intercession is our conspiring together with God, breathing violently into situations through prayer to bring forth life. The prophetic intercessor conspires with God for the release of His glory in the earth. The word ‘conspire’ literally means ‘to breathe together.’ It expresses the most intimate joining of life. When God created man from the dust of the earth, He “breathed into him and he became a living soul.” (Genesis 2:7 KJV)

The Hebrew word here translated ‘breathed’ can mean ‘to breathe violently.’ This suggests the intensity of cost and effort involved in birthing something new. Such was the occasion when there was the sound of a violent wind filling the temple as God sent his Spirit into his new born Church. (Acts 2 NJV) Prophetic intercession is our conspiring together with God, breathing violently into situations through prayer to bring forth life.

When a community of God’s people have the spirit of grace and supplication poured out upon them, they share a joint sense of divine possibility; they become excited that things are about to change. The old are radically overturned. Praying now embraces new horizons, challenges and possibilities.
Suddenly these intercessors are liberated from considering the condition of things from merely a human perspective.

As Ephesians 3:6 tells us, we have been “Raised up with Him, and seated… with Him in the heavenly places.” (NASB) These focused warriors now begin to peer intently from a higher heavenly vantage point. They see with the discerning eyes of the Holy Spirit. Their intercession now assumes a revelatory dimension. As they gather up the promises God has willed for their day and age, they tenaciously stake claim to them in the judicial courts of heaven.
