Testimony | Ten Years On
Adam’s testimony of how his journey with God over the last 10 years has led him on adventures.
When we were young, my parents always took my brother and I around the States and Canada to attend conferences. In 1997, my mom heard of “The Father Loves You” conference with Jack Frost, and knew we were supposed to go. She loaded us into the car and we left our home in Louisville, KY, to pursue her heart’s call.
"I started the School of Ministry with my sails up, allowing my heart to move according to His grace and love"
Fast-forward to three months after my high school graduation in 2002, and I sat in a large, factory-like building in Toronto, Canada. I started the School of Ministry with my sails up, allowing my heart to move according to His grace and love. I jumped in head first, but it wasn’t easy; my flesh constantly fought God’s transforming love. It still does, and will for the rest of my life, but what a joy and honor it is to serve Jesus! After my experience doing the Heart Module, I returned to complete the Worship School. That was one of the most life-changing times, and will always remain as such. It was then that I truly surrendered my life to God’s will.
"I spent my whole life thinking that university was not the correct path for me, but I finished my Anthropology and International Business degree nonetheless."
After being at Catch The Fire (formerly Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship), I moved to Washington D.C. and helped to start a Justice House of Prayer to bring down injustices in the world. After 4 years of living in D.C., Boston, San Francisco, Charlotte, Nashville and Dallas, I started college as a 25 year-old in Cleveland, Tennessee, at Lee University. I spent my whole life thinking that university was not the correct path for me, but I finished my Anthropology and International Business degree nonetheless. During the last year of school, I started a video production company with my three closest friends, and it has taken us from coast to coast and beyond.
"I have learned how faithful God is if we open our sails to Him"
It’s been ten years since my initial call to School of Ministry, and what an adventure it has been. I have learned how faithful God is if we open our sails to Him. For the next season in my life, God is pulling me towards Southeast Asia. I am moving to the Philippines and joining some ministries that will take me all over Asia doing many different things - from video work, to working with orphans and helping with disaster relief.
This next paragraph of my life is going to continue the adventure God started ten years ago, and I will always thank Catch The Fire for believing in me so that I could, in turn, believe in others.
