"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God." (Romans 8:14 NKJV)

What does it mean to be led by the Spirit of God? What does it mean to be His Son?

Romans 8 is one of the richest chapters in all of the Bible. As I was reading it again recently, I lingered long on verse 14. Oh how I long to really be led by the Spirit - in all areas of my life. In my heart, my mind, my marriage, my parenting, my leadership, my finances, my time. Groaning under the weight of renewed revelation, it became clear to me: The Lord was calling me to renew my commitment to yield the leadership of my life to the Holy Spirit. In this place of submission to His leadership, we receive deeper revelation of what it means to be a son of God. One challenge the Holy Spirit is giving me is to increase the time I dialogue with Him throughout the day. Yes, I journal and listen to His voice every morning. Yet, He longs to speak to us throughout the day in the midst of our work, our play and all of our activity. Oh how He longs for us. Any desire for Him is simply a yielding to the initiation of His desire to draw close to us.

David Yonggi Cho, pastor of one of the largest churches in the world in Seoul, Korea says, "In my personal life, fellowship with the Holy Spirit has made all the difference in the world... I have discovered that I am not smart enough to solve the thousands of problems that come to me regularly. Yet, I can just say to the Holy Spirit, 'Sweet Spirit, please let me tell You about the problem I have. I know you know the mind of God and You already have the answer.' With assurance, I then await the answer from the Holy Spirit."

How about renewing your commitment to be led by the Spirit of God... and revel in being His Son.
