"Now learn this parable from the fig tree. When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near - at the doors!" (Matthew 24:32-33 NKJV)

What did Jesus say were the signs of His Second Coming?

Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 17 and Luke 21 are parallel chapters outlining signs Jesus said would precede His second coming. His disciples questioned Him, wanting to know the signs of His coming and the end of the age. Two thousand years ago they wondered what it would look like to live in a time just before Jesus returned. May their curiosity spark in us, the end time church, a hunger to know the signposts marking our Bridegroom's nearness.
Our worship pastor, Jonathan Clarke, recently got married. When we would begin our weekly Catch The Fire Airport team meeting, Jonathan would begin by announcing to us how many days were left before his wedding day. Similarly, we are to eagerly await the countdown to the great event in history about to come upon us - our King, Judge and Bridegroom's return transitioning this age to the age to come and our celestial wedding day. Now that is something worth watching for!

How about studying these passages (and the 150 Chapters in the Bible on End Times) and comparing them to the newspaper and current events today. Even more importantly, endeavour to be ready for your wedding day!
